Do you provide support to any newcomer living in Manitoba?

No. We only operate within Winnipeg and provide service to permanent residents, refugees, and Ukrainian families with CUAET permits who live in Elmwood. Our designated zone reaches from the Red River with Kimberly street, Panet road and Thyme, or within the following postal codes: R2K and R2L. However, we welcome any inquiries from folks who will be moving into this community and can work with you to have your file and settlement process started.

I went to Manitoba start and I was told that Elmwood Community Resource Center will provide me with services. How does this work?

An intake settlement worker will connect with you and book you for an appointment to meet and discuss your individual or family concerns and develop a collaborative settlement plan.

As an eligible newcomer, how can I register for your service?

You can register on our website or contact us at nisw3@elmwoodcrc.ca and the intake settlement worker will be in touch with you. You can also visit our office location at 545 Watt Street to register.

I just moved to your area and my previous settlement provider told me that my file will be/ was transferred to your organization. How will I receive support?

An intake settlement worker will connect with you once we receive your settlement file, and book you for an appointment to meet and discuss your individual or family concerns and develop a collaborative settlement plan.

Do you have elders or knowledge keepers on site?

All of our indigenous cultural programming is developed in consultation with knowledge keepers and/or elders and are facilitated by indigenous identifying facilitators.
